Protect Your Tax Return with an IRS Identity Protection PIN
Protecting your personal information has never been more important. The IRS offers a simple yet powerful tool to help safeguard your tax filings—the Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN).
What is an IP PIN? An IP PIN is a unique, 6-digit number that adds an extra layer of security to your tax return. It ensures that only you can file a return using your Social Security number. Without this PIN, a tax return using your Social Security Number can’t be filed.
Why Should You Get One? By using an IP PIN, you reduce the risk of fraudulent tax filings in your name. This is especially critical if you’ve been a victim of identity theft or simply want to protect yourself against it.
The IRS has announced key changes to retirement savings limits for 2025, giving you an opportunity to grow your retirement savings even more:
401(k) Contribution Limit: Increased to $23,500 (up from $23,000 in 2024).
401(k) Catch-Up Contributions:
Most 401(k) retirement plan participants age 50+ can contribute an additional $7,500 for 2025, totaling $31,000.
**New rule** participants ages 60-63 in 2025 can contribute up to $11,250 additional (instead of $7,500 additional) for a total 2025 maximum contribution of $34,750.
IRA Contribution Limit: Maximum 2025 IRA contributions are capped at $7,000, with an additional $1,000 catch-up contribution for those ages 50+.
This is a great time to review your retirement strategy and ensure you’re taking full advantage of these updated limits.
